My Artistic Roots
When creating a whiteboard video, you need to be an artist, storyteller, animator, and scriptwriter all in one. That’s where I come in.
Big dreams
As a child, I loved drawing and writing funny stories for my brothers, sisters, and our friends. At 16, I decided to send some cartoons to one of the national newspapers. I was over the moon to see them published - and it proved a helpful sideline when I went to university to study graphic design.
Many hats
Over the years, I've tried my hand at various things, each one teaching me something new.
I've done illustrations in various styles – for magazine publishers like Bauer and Hachette, and well-known ad agencies like Saatchi & Saatchi. I’ve worked as an animator for major UK TV channels and set up animation studios in countries as far away as India and China.
I also set up my own animation studio in the UK and produced some big-name films, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies.
Plus, I’ve written for the comedy sketch show Not the Nine O’Clock News, fronted by Rowan Atkinson. And back in the early 2000s, I had my own comic book publishing business.
Blending my skills
My experience isn’t just in art or writing but in understanding how to use my combined skills to communicate effectively. This means I can create whiteboard videos that not only look good but also get your message across and make sure it sticks.
Bespoke whiteboard videos
I can draw and write in various styles, so you can be sure your whiteboard is tailored to your specific needs. So whether you're looking for something fun and quirky or sleek and professional, I can help.
Where I am now
I’ve been married to Alicia for almost 40 years – we first met at university. We’ve got three grown-up children and three mischievous grandchildren. We live in rural Hertfordshire, where I’ve got my own home studio dedicated to my whiteboard videos and illustration work.
